History
In the year 1994, the UK government approved a National Lottery, which made gambling seem more mainstream to the public. In the year 1968 the advent of gambling via the Internet, mobile phone and/or television was also allowed. During this instance more people were indulged in internet gambling games and thus a change of rules was needed.
In 2000 the UK government approved the gambling industry. A new Gambling Act was issued in 2007, and the reaction from most of the people was positive. There are more than ten various commissions and trade associations which have been established to aid in the monitoring process of gambling games.

The religious perspectives on gambling are mixed. The religious authorities always disapprove the concept of gambling. Gambling has often resulted in grave social consequences. For the social and religious consequences, most of the legal jurisdictions limit gambling. Some Islamic nations also prohibit gambling games but most other countries regulate it.
